About Journal

The “Iranian Journal of Materials Forming (IJMF)” is an open-access international journal in the fields of materials deformation and forming processes founded by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of Shiraz University in April 2014. The journal was initially published semi-annually until 2021; however, it has been published quarterly since then. Since 2022, IJMF has been published by Shiraz University in cooperation with the Iron & Steel Society of Iran. The journal publishes four issues per year (January, April, July, and October) and provides an international medium for the dissemination of original research in the fields of material formingshaping, and material workability. The open-access policy of the journal means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. IJMF allows all versions of the published manuscripts to be deposited in an institutional or other repository of the author’s choice without embargo.

The quality and credibility of the journal have been ensured by appointing some of the most well-known professors in the world as members of its editorial board. In order to support the scientific community in all aspects of research and publishing ethics, IJMf evaluates the originality of submitted papers using "iThenticate" as the main tool for plagiarism screening. Submissions will be reviewed by at least two reviewers. If they are not rejected, comments will be sent to the authors. The revised article will be resubmitted to reviewers. After the approval of the final referee, a letter of scientific acceptance is given. IJMF is indexed by Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) in the English E-Journals Database.
